The last four episodes of MAD MEN have raised the bar for story telling on TV considerably. In fact, I can't remember a movie that would equal their combined narrative power.
And this, the penultimate scene in this week's episode, is brilliant.
We don't need any dialog to tell us that each of these five characters has been dealt a ferocious blow or disgraced themself. That once again, life has turned out to be disappointing, frustrating, cruel. A party only heightens the discontent in every day life.
And Sally Draper, you don't stand a chance in the world. Someone will always be telling you to take off your go-go boots.
