pitter patter

Nude Lanvin sandals, on sale at Neiman Marcus

My new nude Lanvin sandals make my heart go pitter patter a little. The fact they were extremely on sale and will prove to be quite the champion shoe (read: I'll be wearing these pups with a lot) I think we'll be getting along just fine this summer. Yes, just fine indeed.

On an unrelated note, congrats again to the ladies behind Glitter Guide! The site itself is beautiful (if you haven't checked it out yet, do so here) and the launch party at Luna Boutique in SF last night was a blast.  Had a chance to meet so many lovely ladies while sipping champagne and casually shopping. Can a Wednesday night get any better? I think not!

Font Loves: Part Deux.

As promised, here are a few more of my fave fonts. Some were free. Gotta love Dafont! Some were not, but I love 'em all the same. I am an equal opportunity font lover.

Without further ado, here is group numero dos...

Hope you see something you like and didn't know about. Nothing I love more than finding a new font I love.

Anyone else going to the Glitter Guide launch party tonight? This lady sure is! Hope to see you there!

Just Like Her Godmother.

My sister just sent me a copy of my niece's perfect report card from third grade. The kid is not only gorgeous, she is crazy intelligent, just like me. Ha!

Just wanted to send a huge shout-out to her. My Paulina, your Nena loves you to death. We are all so proud of you, baby girl.

Here she is with Nati just a few weeks ago...  I can't help but feel lucky and so blessed when I look at them both. I can't wait to see Nati's report card next week.

As if Harvest Workroom isn't filled with enough colour from Emily Green, Harvest Textiles and myself. Now we have an amazing yarn shop, Popcraft. As well as superstar illustrator Beci orpin?! Are you kidding me?! No I am certainly not!

Look at all the colours, and beautiful handmade goodness! This is why my wallet is afraid of me. Everytime I step into Harvest, all I want to do is just buy something pretty. I am trying very VERY hard to hold my excitement all in. Two things you need to know about me - I am VERY addicted to buying beautiful yarn and handmade stuff. So far, I've already got myself some beautiful soft yarn from Popcraft, and also a sweet pair or silver earrings from Beci Orpin's pop up shop. The earrings are so pretty. They are single earrings and I got a bunny and a smiling sun. Might show you a picture soon! x

PS: Beci's pop up shop closing party is happening this Sunday at Harvest! You should drop by. There's gonna be yummy tacos too. Oooh...

Oh, dear...

I was going through stuff yesterday evening and my heart almost stopped when I found this...

We took her out of the hospital wearing these socks and my chest got tight thinking about how little she was. Of course she was that tiny for about 10 seconds, but still.

It really is, without a doubt, the blink of an eye. I'm all verklempt now. Gotta go hug her for about an hour. Or until iCarly comes on.

*sigh*

Have a great day lovelies,

working for the weekend

With a long holiday ahead, I'm already filling the ol' weekender bag with all my beach goodies. Since I'll be getting some much needed R&R up at a Lake Tahoe cabin, the activities in store are pretty low key: napping and reading on the beach, soaking some sun, afternoon hikes and riding to the store on our bikes.

1.) Love how much this coral red pops! You all know I'm a sucker for pairing my silk shirts with laid back jeans or cut offs, which is exactly what I plan on doing!
Silk shirt, J. Crew, $98

2.) A wide brim panama hat goes with me just about anytime I even think about going out in the sun. Why? It is absolutely NO fun to get sunburnt right in the part of your hair. I have a fun Coachella experience to thank for that lesson learned.
Panama hat, Madewell, $58

3.) Chevron stripes. One piece swimsuit. Yes and yes.
Chevron printed one piece swimsuit, Undrest, available at Net-a-Porter, $280

4.) It's not the Fourth of July without a pair of your trusty denim cut off shorts. I'm pretty sure our founding fathers would agree.
Denim cut off shorts, J. Brand, available at Bird, $155

5.) Having spoiled my Karen Walkers with a lot of wear lately, I need to resurface my Ray Ban wayfarers for a bit. Always classic, always chic.
Clubmaster sunglasses, Ray-Ban, available at Barneys New York, $140

6.) A good strappy flat sandal. Perfect for all the trekking and biking around. No heels here. (My feet are already rejoicing!)
Strappy sandal, Madewell, $118

7.)  I've been reading Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged for the past several months but haven't been able to get some good alone time with it. I hope to stick my nose in for several hours and only come up for lemonade refills!
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Amazon, $9.99

What are your plans for the Fourth?

New Piece

New PieceNona's Easy Peasy Orange Cake
An orange themed painting for an upcoming group show organized by the lovely ladies from Miss Kish. Well, it's meant to spell Nonna. As in grandma. But I got carried away and spelt Nona instead. It still works though! I had so much fun painting this piece in the garden yesterday. Made me feel like having an orange cake too! Do you know Oranges are actually my favourite fruit. I do not like apples! And I'm impartial to berries.

This piece will be for sale during the exhibition. More details soon.

Peaz's cute little home

I'm staying over at the beautiful Peaz family home this week. Thanks Pete and Emma! I was meant to go into the studio today to work but I got distracted and ended up staying at 'home' instead. I seriously cannot get over the cuteness of their house. Pete and Emma have two little kidlets and so the whole house is pretty much filled with lots and lots of kiddy drawings. Cute! They have 2 healthy and big hens at the back, along with a guinea pig. I've lived in an apartment my whole life so having hens at home excites me. I think I checked out those chooks at least 5 times today! Sense my excitement? Haha.

I'd love to show you more pictures of Emma's beautiful home. But I'm not going to invade their privacy. So well, let's just all use our creativity and imagine how cute it is!

Meanwhile, here's a little picture of the house just opposite theirs. It's being built still but just look at those red dots! Polka dot house!

Color Me Surprised...

Here's a picture of myself I don't hate. Stop the presses, people!  I took it a couple of weeks ago with my iPhone,  and I have to say, Hipstamatic is a girl's best friend.  Yeah, it hides all sorts of things...

Photo overlay by Pugly Pixel.

Who knows, I may even take more, so people know I was there too. Ha!  Gotta make an appearance in my layouts once in a while, I guess.

Have a wonderful week, It's almost time for vacay over here. Finally!

This morning, Little Miss Poppy had her 4th birthday party. Mummy Cindy invited me over to do some art with Poppy and friends. We read Charlie and Lola's 'This is actually my party' and made our very own cardboard cupcakes! Oh yum! There were paints, sparkles, pom poms, lots of Mr Brushes and yummies. ( Oh those delicious sausage rolls! ) And of course Poppy had a big cute birthday cake made by the clever Katrina. Oh Poppy's you are such a lucky girl! Happy birthday! Thanks once again Cindy for this arty party opportunity! : )
